European and International Openness: Encouraging and making a success of mobility
Provoking the need and thirst for culture is an excellent way to build oneself up. Through international exchanges we want to offer our young people the opportunity to get to know the Other and the world better, to help them develop their open-mindedness and critical sense by having knowledge of what is really lived. Because they will build tomorrow’s world from differences but not without indifference, that is to say by accepting the Other.
The strategic axes are to include mobility in the students’ curriculum, to develop inter-culturality and universal values. The academic project 2018 – 2021 promotes greater openness to Europe and the world, with a view to success for all, excellence for all and performance in the service of all. These are the academic and national priorities. The law of 2013 also advocates the creation of partnerships with school stakeholders and mobility contributes even more strongly to the development of linguistic, personal and intercultural skills, individually and collectively.
We are firmly committed to this process of opening up to Europe and to the Other, which is mentioned in the establishments’ projects. The school is involved in Erasmus+ or agreements (agreement and scope of works), but also in pairings with certain high schools. The educational measures implemented are defined by these agreements. They may range from artistic representation to the creation of a website, but also through joint technological activities and intercultural work. The communication tools are videoconferencing, internet messaging, what’s app and for some projects etwinning. Participation in Erasmus+ projects, the setting up of partnerships, participation in Erasmus days, and in the NN network (Hauts-de-France / Nordrhein-Westfalen), Certilingua…are visible actions. The incoming and outgoing mobilities are multiple: – observation course for teachers, – mobility of one year, or of a course of study abroad, – exchanges in the framework of students of a level ranging from one week to more than two months. Preparatory work is carried out with the participants, ranging from information meetings (parents are invited) to mobility support. An evaluation is carried out after each mobility. For participating teachers, on entering or leaving, it allows observation and exchange of good practice by integrating courses.
The OZANAM high school is accredited CERTILINGUA
Since 2016, the school has been accredited by Certilingua. This international label of excellence certifies the intercultural, plurilingual European and international skills of the students.
The CertiLingua® Label of Excellence for plurilingual, European and international skills certifies high level performance and is complementary to the baccalaureate diploma.
The CertiLingua® Label of Excellence for plurilingual, European and international competences is awarded by the only schools officially authorised by the Ministry of Education and the Certilingua® network.
The accreditation received by these institutions attests to the fact that they
offer teaching which, in the final cycle, leads to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in two foreign modern languages.
teach a subject in a foreign language (DNL) at the final level.
carry out in-depth, specialised and interdisciplinary work on lifestyles and living environments in Europe and internationally
regularly initiate European and international cooperation projects.
preserve the quality of the language and of European and international educational provision on a long-term basis by means of evaluation methods.

Congratulations to Alice and Julie
Two of our former students have received the Certilingua Label of Excellence for their plurilingual, European and international skills.
They will be honoured soon in our school on the occasion of the awarding of the certificate. Please note that this label is awarded to only 17 candidates in our Academy.
Alice is currently studying for a degree in Literature, Literature, Foreign Languages and Civilisation at the Catholic University of Lille.
As for Julie, she is preparing a degree in Earth Sciences and Life Sciences at the University of Villeneuve d’Ascq.
We wish them a good continuation and success in their chosen training.
Alice, Julie: Congratulations from the Rector for your Certilingua Label.
In order to apply, Alice and Julie had to validate level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, to have followed two years of Non-Linguistic Discipline in the European section, and, based on a significant, documented and analysed international intercultural experience, to have written a ten-page dissertation on a European issue as well as a Europass type CV.
For Alice: “How the Franco-German exchange programme I took part in made me grow on a personal level”.
For Julie: “My experience in an Australian school: a new insight into my European heritage”.
Both have been validated, and will therefore receive this label of Excellence awarded this year to 17 high school students in the academy.
